MURPHY

At three years old, hitting pots and pans on the kitchen floor, Tim Murphy Jr. quickly became passionate about music and sound.

 

Originally from Amherst, NH, Tim grew up learning fundamentals from his dad, jamming to their all-time inspiration Neil Peart of Rush, and breaking into powerful air-drums at many of their concerts.

As Souhegan High School's three-time NHMEA Jazz All-State participant, Tim also spent the summers of 2015-2016 training under the Thom Hannum's Mobile Percussion Seminar at UMass Amherst, and went on to continue his music education with an undergraduate scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.

 

Tim anticipates completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance, by the fall of 2023. While attending to his studies, Tim not only independently produced and released his own music, but also performed in the styles of Rock, Pop, Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B, and Neo-Soul, at weddings, clubs, bars, private events, orchestral, and marching settings.

 

While Tim continues challenging his creative process and strengthening his technical skills, he is determined to collaborate with passionate artists, and continue enjoying the art that's grown with him since he was young.
